TERMS OF SERVICE

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing the Speak Easy Languages website, booking a trial class, enrolling in a course, or participating in any lesson, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service.

Speak Easy Languages reserves the right to amend these Terms at any time without prior notice.

2. Course Structure

Speak Easy Languages provides online language courses through live virtual classes.

  • Each language level consists of 40 business days of instruction.

  • Classes are conducted Monday to Friday.

  • Group classes are limited to a maximum of 6 students.

  • Course schedules are determined by Speak Easy Languages.

  • Speak Easy Languages reserves the right to modify schedules, teachers, lesson formats, platforms, course content, and class structures whenever necessary.

3. Trial Classes

Each student is entitled to one complimentary trial class.

The trial class allows students to evaluate the course, teaching methodology, and suitability of the programme before enrolling.

Participation in a trial class constitutes sufficient opportunity for evaluation. Once payment has been made following a successful trial class, all sales become final.

4. Fees, Payments and Refund Policy

All course fees must be paid in full before the commencement of classes.

Strict No Refund Policy

Following participation in a trial class and completion of payment:

  • No refunds shall be issued under any circumstances.

  • No partial refunds shall be granted for missed classes.

  • No refunds shall be granted due to schedule conflicts, relocation, travel, personal circumstances, technical difficulties, dissatisfaction, inability to attend, or failure to complete the course.

  • Students are responsible for ensuring the course meets their expectations during the trial class.

All fees paid are non-refundable and non-transferable.

5. Attendance, Missed Classes and Recordings

Students are solely responsible for attending scheduled classes.

Speak Easy Languages does not provide:

  • Make-up classes

  • Replacement classes

  • Repeat classes

  • Rescheduled lessons

  • Additional tutoring to compensate for missed attendance

Any missed class remains entirely the responsibility of the student.

Where available, students may access class recordings for review purposes.

The availability of recordings does not create any obligation on the part of Speak Easy Languages to repeat lessons, provide additional support, or extend course duration.

6. Course Expiry and Extensions

Courses must be completed within the designated timeframe.

No extensions, pauses, freezes, carry-forward periods, postponements, or suspensions shall be granted unless expressly approved by Speak Easy Languages in writing.

Unused classes hold no monetary value and cannot be redeemed, transferred, exchanged, credited, or refunded.

7. Examination, Certification and Test Results

Speak Easy Languages provides language instruction and educational support only.

Speak Easy Languages does not administer, guarantee, certify, or take responsibility for the outcome of any:

  • Language proficiency examinations

  • Academic assessments

  • University entrance examinations

  • Visa language requirements

  • Professional certifications

  • Government language tests

  • Immigration-related language examinations

  • Third-party assessments

While our courses are designed to improve language skills, Speak Easy Languages makes no representation or guarantee regarding:

  • Examination scores

  • Pass rates

  • Certifications

  • Academic admissions

  • Employment opportunities

  • Visa approvals

  • Professional qualifications

  • Any specific learning outcome

Students remain solely responsible for preparing for, registering for, and attending any examinations they choose to undertake.

Unless expressly agreed in writing before enrolment, Speak Easy Languages has no obligation to provide specialised exam preparation, certification training, admissions consulting, immigration advice, or assessment services.

No refunds, credits, extensions, compensation, or claims shall be accepted based on examination results, certification outcomes, academic decisions, employment opportunities, visa applications, or failure to achieve a desired objective.

Speak Easy Languages is an educational platform and is not an accredited examination centre, immigration consultancy, legal advisory service, employment agency, university, or governmental institution unless expressly stated otherwise in writing.

8. Teacher and Student Conduct

To protect the integrity of the platform, students and teachers agree not to:

  • Exchange personal contact information for private tuition arrangements.

  • Circumvent the Speak Easy Languages platform.

  • Recruit, solicit, or engage students or teachers outside the platform.

  • Conduct private classes using contacts obtained through Speak Easy Languages.

  • Engage in harassment, discrimination, abusive behaviour, or inappropriate conduct.

Speak Easy Languages reserves the right to immediately terminate access to any participant found violating these provisions.

Where appropriate, legal action may be pursued to protect the business interests, intellectual property, and contractual relationships of Speak Easy Languages.

9. Confidentiality and Privacy

Speak Easy Languages is committed to protecting the privacy of its students and teachers.

We do not sell, rent, trade, or share customer information with third parties for marketing purposes.

Participants agree not to collect, share, distribute, publish, or misuse any personal information obtained through classes or the platform, including:

  • Email addresses

  • Telephone numbers

  • Home addresses

  • Financial information

  • Social media profiles

  • Personal identification details

  • Professional information

Any misuse of personal information may result in immediate termination of services and further legal action where permitted by law.

Speak Easy Languages shall not be responsible for information voluntarily disclosed by participants during classes.

10. Intellectual Property Rights

All materials remain the exclusive property of Speak Easy Languages, including but not limited to:

  • Course content

  • Presentations

  • Lesson plans

  • Teaching materials

  • Exercises

  • Recordings

  • Videos

  • Downloads

  • Website content

  • Logos

  • Branding

No participant may reproduce, copy, distribute, modify, publish, record, sell, licence, transmit, or otherwise exploit any materials without prior written permission.

11. Recordings and Online Classes

Classes may be recorded for educational, administrative, training, or quality assurance purposes.

All recordings remain the sole property of Speak Easy Languages.

Students and teachers may not:

  • Record classes independently without permission

  • Redistribute recordings

  • Publish recordings online

  • Share recordings with third parties

  • Use recordings for commercial purposes

Unauthorised use may result in immediate removal and legal action.

12. Technical Requirements

Students are responsible for ensuring they have:

  • Stable internet access

  • Suitable computer or mobile device

  • Working audio equipment

  • Necessary software and applications

Speak Easy Languages is not responsible for missed lessons resulting from technical failures on the student's side.

13. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Speak Easy Languages shall not be liable for:

  • Direct losses

  • Indirect losses

  • Consequential damages

  • Business interruption

  • Loss of opportunity

  • Academic outcomes

  • Employment outcomes

  • Visa outcomes

  • Examination outcomes

  • Technical failures outside our control

Participation in courses is undertaken entirely at the student's own discretion and risk.

14. Right to Refuse Service

Speak Easy Languages reserves the absolute right to:

  • Refuse enrolment

  • Suspend accounts

  • Remove participants from classes

  • Terminate access to services

for any reason including but not limited to:

  • Breach of these Terms

  • Disruptive behaviour

  • Harassment

  • Fraudulent conduct

  • Abuse of staff or participants

  • Attempts to circumvent the platform

No refunds shall be due following such termination.

15. Governing Law

These Terms of Service shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of Portugal.

Any disputes arising from the use of the website, services, or courses shall be subject exclusively to the jurisdiction of the courts of Portugal.

16. Acceptance

By accessing the Speak Easy Languages website, booking a trial lesson, enrolling in a course, making payment, or participating in any class, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms of Service in their entirety.
